Bieg Salazar set to build on debut season with Rebels
Essex Rebels are delighted to announce the return of lead guard Carla Bieg Salazar.
The Spanish Native recently graduated from the University of Essex where she studied for a Postgraduate degree in molecular medicine.
Carla helped guide the Essex Rebels to a 10-10 season and hopes to build on a very positive first season in the WBBL. Carla played the most minutes per game for the Rebels averaging 34 minutes per game and her work ethic and approach to training and games is exceptional. With an average 9.8 points per game, Carla is a consistent scorer for the Rebels and will look to develop on her consistency from the free throw line.
Carla brought with her a wealth of experience, before joining the rebels Carla was a member of the NCAA div 1 Seattle university women’s basketball team.
Tom Sadler, Head of Basketball Performance said “It is great to have Carla back as our lead guard. I thought she had a solid year last year. I think this year she will build on the success of last season and help lead the team to more success over the coming months”.
