Paxton to help Rebels become ‘major player’ in WBBL
The Essex Rebels are excited to announce the signing of 6’2 forward Claire Paxton.
Paxton joins the Rebels after a number of successful season in the WBBL where she has established herself as one of the league’s top performers.
Last season Paxton led Durham to 10th overall in the league in scoring averaging just shy of 16 points a game while also leading the league in defensive rebounds.
The addition of Paxton really strengthens the Rebels frontcourt, as well as some security on the boards.
Claire will also be studying for her postgraduate degree at the University of Essex where she will continue her education as a dual career athlete, in her chosen course of Organised Crime and Terrorism and Security.
Tom Sadler, Head of Basketball Performance said “Claire is a major signing for us and shows our intent to be a major player in the league. She has been a dominant player in this league for the last 4 seasons and we look forward to having her in the Rebels squad and showcasing her talent within the Rebels programme”.
