Rebels Let the Kestrels Take Flight
Essex Rebels Division 1 mens team were back in a action on Saturday against the high flying Solent Kestrels. Solent, the 3 time champions, were on the ropes last weekend against derby, whilst Essex are still searching for their first win of the season.
Essex matched the intensity of Solent for the first 5 minutes but the visitors got on a run and started to convert in transition.
From here Solent didn’t let up their defensive intensity and were scoring at will.
Essex needed to go back to basics if they were going to compete in this game.
The final score saw Solent blow out Essex, 105 to 38.
Head Coach Ross Norfolk said “We have to get use to that defensive intensity. To many turnovers and missed lay ups from us this week. We can’t expect to be in games at this level shooting only 26% Field goals”.
Essex now look to bounce back with 2 games next weekend. They host Derby trailblazers on Saturday and then host Cardiff Archers in the National Cup.
