Player and Coach of the Year Awards Highlight Season of Success for the Rebels D3 Men
The Essex Rebels D3 Men are making headlines with their remarkable season, being the only undefeated team in the league following their Semifinal win against Loughborough Riders II. As they gear up for the D3 Playoff Final in Manchester on Saturday 27th April, two standout members are receiving well-deserved recognition for their outstanding contributions.
Basketball England announced co-captain Jordan Ashley as D3 East Player of the Year. Jordan has had an amazing season averaging:
19.4 Points per game
4.8 Rebounds per game
4.6 Assists per game
2.9 Steals per game
54% Field goals made
Jordan Ashley joined the Rebels in 2019, following the Essex Rebels Pathway. Starting in the U18 Junior NBL, he progressed to the Rebels D3 Men’s team and occasionally played for the D1 Men’s team. His talent and leadership have contributed significantly to the Rebels’ success, culminating in his well-deserved Player of the Year honours.
Ryan Maiden, the Head Coach of the Rebels D3 Men’s team, has been honoured as the D3 East Coach of the Year following his team’s flawless season. He has been the Rebels D3 Head Coach for the past three years, having previously coached at the Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club, and is a prominent figure within the Colchester basketball community.
Congratulations to Jordan and Ryan on receiving these awards! The Rebels D3 Men’s team has their final game this Saturday, April 27th, as they compete for the D3 Playoff Championship against Barnet Bulldogs.
