Luke Busumbru named NBL D1 Team of the Year and British Team of the Year

Luke Busumbru’s debut season with the Essex Rebels has been nothing short of remarkable. He has been named to the NBL 1st Team of the Year as well as British 1st Team of the Year for the 2023/24 season. Luke’s impact on and off the court has been pivotal in driving the Rebels to their best season yet.

Luke quickly established himself as a key player, averaging 11.9 points, 5.1 assists, and 6 rebounds per game.

Under Luke’s leadership, the Rebels achieved their highest-ever finish, securing second place in the regular season. Additionally, the Rebels made history by reaching their first NBL Cup Semifinal, marking a significant milestone for the club.

I am Super grateful to be nominated for both British and team of the year. This doesn’t happen without the guys around me. My teammates, coaches, background staff, University of Essex for taking a chance on me. Disappointed we couldn’t bring some silverware back to Colchester, but proud of the progress we have made so far
