Essex Rebels home matches cancelled during lockdown
Following the Government announcement of a national lockdown starting on 5 November, the sports facilities at the University of Essex have closed for the duration of the lockdown, currently scheduled to last until 2 December.
The closure of facilities has meant that the WBBL Cup matches against BA London Lions and Cardiff Met Archers due to be staged at the Essex Sport Arena in November have had to be cancelled. As the group stages of the WBBL Cup were due to be concluded in November, this sadly means that the Essex Rebels have had to withdraw from this competition. WBBL Championship matches will start once the lockdown finishes and sports facilities are able to re-open.
With both the women’s and men’s teams currently unable to access facilities to train, forthcoming Essex Rebels Men’s NBL away matches have also been postponed, and will be re-scheduled to a later date.
Details of future matches will be updated on the website: www.essexrebels.co.uk
