Comprised of inspirational role models, our players are drawn from across the World, as well as young players from the Basketball England talent pathway.
Mens 1st team.
Having secured back-to-back promotions in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, and finishing in the top half of the Basketball England National League Division 1 in 2020/21, the Essex Rebels are playing in their fourth year at this elite level.
Supported by one of the best university basketball programmes in the U.K. players combine representing the Essex Rebels with study at the University of Essex. Providing inspiration for young players within the Essex Rebels pathway, our menâs teams demonstrate how you can achieve your potential through hard work and dedication.
Mens 2nd team.
The Essex Rebels menâs second team play in National League Division 3, providing a development opportunity for young players making their early entry into senior competition. The squad is drawn from a mixture of players studying at the University of Essex, plus some players moving up from the junior side to gain exposure of senior competition.

The Essex Rebels D2 Men are kicking off 2025 with the only basketball home game of the month! Currently sitting in 10th place, the Rebels are ready to take on the 8th-placed Barnet Bulldogs in what promises to be an intense NBL Division 2 South clash.

Get Ready for JERSEY NIGHT at Essex Sport Arena!
Join us for our first-ever Jersey Night and an action-packed gameday at Essex Sport Arena! On February 15th, weâre hosting an exciting tripleheader featuring all three Essex Rebels Basketball teams and the first home games for our SLB Women and D1 Men of the year.

Essex Rebels Doubleheader: SLB Women & D1 Men
Join us at the Essex Sport Arena on 22 February for an exciting basketball doubleheader, featuring both the Essex Rebels SLB Women and NBL Division 1 Menâs teams.
The action kicks off at 4 PM, as the Essex Rebels Women take on the Leicester Riders in a highly anticipated Super League Basketball clash. Following their game, the Rebels Men will hit the court at 6:30 PM to face the London Cavaliers in an exciting NBL Division 1 match-up.
This is a fantastic opportunity to experience two competitive games back-to-back and see some of the regionâs top basketball talent in action. With plenty of energy and excitement guaranteed, itâs the perfect event for basketball fans, families, and anyone looking for an entertaining evening.
