Comprised of inspirational role models, our players are drawn from across the World, as well as young players from the Basketball England talent pathway.
Womens team.
The womenâs senior team entered the Basketball England National League for the first time in the 2015-16 season as the Essex Blades. The team won the National Cup final at the EIS in Sheffield in that first season in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to score the winning basket with the final score of the game. The team went on to win the Division One title in 2017-18, losing just one game in the whole season.
Following that successful season, the team moved from the NBL to the womenâs professional league in the 2018/2019 season, becoming the 12th team in the Womenâs British Basketball League.
The Essex Rebels are now in their sixth season in the Women’s British Basketball League, and have clinched a Playoff spot every season since 2020/2021.
In the ongoing 2023/2024 season, the team as achieved a significant milestone by making it to their inaugural major final, the Women’s British Basketball League Trophy Final in Birmingham. The Rebels secured the runner-up position in the Trophy Final, marking a commendable achievement in their journey.

Essex Rebels Doubleheader: SLB Women & D1 Men
Join us at the Essex Sport Arena on 22 February for an exciting basketball doubleheader, featuring both the Essex Rebels SLB Women and NBL Division 1 Menâs teams.
The action kicks off at 4 PM, as the Essex Rebels Women take on the Leicester Riders in a highly anticipated Super League Basketball clash. Following their game, the Rebels Men will hit the court at 6:30 PM to face the London Cavaliers in an exciting NBL Division 1 match-up.
