Junior Basketball Club update
Dear members,
Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club provides the following update on the club’s activities.
Further to my previous update, and following a rigorous evaluation exercise, I’m pleased to advise that, Essex Rebels Junior Basketball Club has signed a temporary hire agreement with the Thomas Lord Audley School to use its Sports Centre during the winter months, and whilst the restriction (to external hirers) is still in place at the University of Essex.
Thus, following the above development, I’m delighted to announce October 21, 2020 as the re-start date of the 2020-2021 basketball season. To this end, please find attached to this update the club’s new training schedule.
By way of information, the evaluation exercise involved four, Colchester-based sporting venues and considered the following key parameters:
• Condition of the facilities.
• Existence of the new NBL court markings.
• Existence of optimal infection control measures and procedures for COVID-19.
• Existence of safeguarding-enhancing infrastructure and facilities.
• The hire agreement.
Now, following the recent disruptions, the club’s management team has restructured the 2020-2021 payment schedule as follows: the first payment of the new season will now be £20 and will be collected on 01 November 2020. Thereafter, normal payments (£40 collected on, or around, the 01st of each month) will resume, with the final payment due on 01 May 2021.
Lastly, and on behalf of the club’s management team, I would like to thank you for your continued support throughout this challenging period. We will continue to monitor external events closely and update the membership as appropriate. In the meantime, it is essential that we all encourage our children to follow the club’s Return to Play Guidance (attached to this update) to protect their own health as well as that of their colleagues and the voluntary staff. Thank you.
Kindest regards
Rob Angira
Club Director
