Rebels tame the lions
Essex Rebels Division 1 men hosted BA London Lions II on Wednesday in the LLynch Trophy competition. Both teams were looking to start their seasons with a win before the regular season begins in October.
Rebels came away winners, 91 – 87. The game showed some elite level basketball with highlight play after highlight play. Senior player Jordan Gray had a great first night with 17 points, 7 Assists and 2 rebounds, whilst Sophomore Ben Winter contributed 16 points. A big mention to Rookie Daniel Oghagbon who was huge on the boards for the Rebels with 11 rebounds and 4 points in his debut.
Head Coach Ross Norfolk was pleased with his teams first competitive performance, “The guys have been working hard during the preseason, they are hungry to get back on court and play in front of the rebels fans. We now need to continue building our team cohesion and add to our offence”
