

Rebels Women Dominate Wildcats After BUCS Triumph
Fresh off their BUCS National Championship victory on Wednesday, the Essex Rebels women’s team carried their momentum into an emphatic 109-87 win over Nottingham Wildcats, improving their SLB Women record to 8-7.
The Rebels showcased their offensive firepower, shooting an impressive 49.4% from the field and 46.7% from beyond the arc. Lauren Park-Lane led a balanced attack with 14 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals, orchestrating an offense that saw five players score in double figures.
Maria Blazejewski delivered an outstanding performance with 25 points and 6 rebounds on efficient 8-15 shooting, while Taylor O’Brien added 15 points and 3 rebounds. Daniella Turner contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds, shooting a remarkable 13-18 from the field.
The Rebels dominated the glass, outrebounding Nottingham 42-25, and recorded 23 assists on 40 made field goals, highlighting their unselfish play.
For Nottingham, Claire Jacobs scored a team-high 34 points, including 11 free throws, while Erin Antosh added 18 points and 4 rebounds in a valiant effort.
The Rebels return to the Essex Sport Arena this Saturday to face third-placed Newcastle Eagles in another crucial matchup as they continue their playoff push.
